When past becomes afterwards
Zeitgeist is pleased to present a new work from Nashville-based artist Patrick DeGuira.
Patrick DeGuira's latest body of work "When past becomes afterwards" will feature paintings, sculptures, and prints. Patrick has traditionally talked about his work as visual props; objects as vehicles for narratives that allure and unsettle expressing themes of death, humor, domesticity, and emotional communication. Those familiar with his work will find the new canvases a real treat and fitting seamlessly into more familiar sculptural and print work.
Patrick is a graduate of the Memphis College of Art, the New York Studio Program, and a fixture of the Nashville studio community. His work has been featured at the Hunter Museum of American Art, The Frist Center for Visual Art, Brooks Museum of Art, Honeyspace Gallery (NYC) and the Fred Snitzer gallery (Miami) among others.
