Power War Death

Zeitgeist is pleased to present a new series of work from Nashville-based photographer Shannon Clark, in the second “project space” exhibitions closing out the summer season.

Power War Death is an idea-based project that begins with the artist’s internet searches of images for the topics of “power”, “war”, and “death.” The results are presented as high resolution scans in “image clouds” that are arranged in no hierarchical order. Images of the aftermath of an airstrike float beside puppies playing and a backyard cookout leaving viewers to make their own associations as to how these images are connected and how the information age makes sense of (or makes senseless) timeless human issues.

Shannon Clark is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Deign and the San Francisco Art Institute and is adjunct teaching at Belmont University and Watkins College of Art and Design.
